Be prepared to immerse your self in a world where falling in love could cost you your life and nothing is as it seems.
Innovera Yakov – The Journey of A Thousand Eyes is the first installment in an action-packed fantasy drama where characters with powers of healing and destruction live, love, compete and disappear without a trace while they are being prepared for the Journey.

Ayana doesn't understand why she's different from the other Innoverans. They are all beautiful and can fly but she can't without the help of her special device. She does have a purpose as the only healer in their world. They don't really know where they come from but the Voice gradually prepares them for a journey that they must take in order to move on to the next phase. It's gets difficult because they have to work together but the chaos and jealousy makes the task more daunting.Ayana and crew must learn to resolve their  issues,if they hope to survive.

I really enjoyed the pace of this book, it was fast but steady enough to not miss the intricate details of the story. Garriques has created such a vivid fantasy world in Innovera, that lovers of this genre will enjoy. This is a great read about the journey within oneself and acceptance when you find the right path. What's nice about this book is that each character seems unique yet it's easy to connect to the various battles and emotions they go through as the book progresses. it's the authenticity of the feelings of doubt, impatience, insecurity, courage, hope and many other emotions that I think teens will be able to identify with. Overall, the writing, characters and plot are good and there is plenty of action packed sequences. I will say that ending left me wondering what happens next....methinks another book is in order.
