Great selection. I have "Please Baby Please" for my daughter! Eyes Were Watching God, Color Purple, Things Fall Apart...classics. I've really been into paranormal/urban fantasy but have yet to read an LA Banks book. Must put one on my TBR list. Have you read the Seressia Glass series?
ReplyDeleteYou should add this wonderful post to the Black History Month Hop linky with Mocha Girls Read and Reflections of a Bookaholic. You could win a great prize. Love this post!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lee, no I haven't read that series must look into it. Alysia, I will most certainly do that right now! Thanks to you both for stopping by!:)
ReplyDeleteThis is an awesome post. You really outdid yourself with the number of books you have highlighted here. I have read several of these and I'm familiar with most of the authors. I need to get the all mixed up for my daughter. Maybe I will start a tradition for black history month by giving her books by African American authors.
ReplyDelete@Tiffany I think that is a wonderful idea and a great bonding experience for you both as well. Thanks so much, I'm looking forward to reading at some point a Perfect Peace and Silver Sparrow. I love the covers!
ReplyDelete@Tiff that is a great idea but I would try to incorporate authors and subjects of all races in her reading selections. That way she wouldn't feel like she has to read about Black people just because it's Feb. (just my two cents) :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, thank you, thank you.........this is a great list. Something for everyone. I have added to my list!!!!
