The schedule for this week is kind of up in the air. I've been so exhausted lately and haven't wanted to do much of anything. I have reviews to write but none posted last week because I had some promos that I signed up to post. It feels like I'm in another reading slump because even when I reading it feels like I'm forcing myself to do it. I think what's going to happen is that I'll back away from reading young adult and become a lot more selective in what I read in this genre. Then I'm also contemplating if I should keep with the "til Next Tuesday meme. On another note, I'll be work 14 hrs shifts for the next two weeks starting today because it's finals and my night job stays open 24 hours for the students to study. At least the weather has been nice this week.

New This Week
No books this week.
What's new with you? Did you discover any new books?
It sounds like you have a lot going on - take care of yourself and have a great week :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, it's a lot going on in my life right now, especially with work but the check will be nice. :)
Delete14 hour shifts?? Yikes. And I hear you on the reading slump... I've had a few mini- slumps lately and they're no fun. Hope yours passes soon.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week!
Me too, it's like I just don't want to read and when I do I'm not really enjoying them as much as I hoped.
Delete14 hr shifts?! That seems a bit intense. I hope your reading slump eases up! I'm just not reaching the other side of mine which has lasted since about February. I've had to back away from YA a bit myself.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a great week!
Now, I have to find something that will spark my reading again but I hope I can get some reading done these next two weeks. I work in a library so it will be quiet and I'll need something to do.
DeleteOh wow, 14 hr shifts?! That sounds like torture! I hope you come out of your reading slump! :)
ReplyDeleteI ask myself why I do it but then I make it through a day at a time. Me too, what would I do without a book to read.
DeleteIt's ok Latoya to be more selective. I've just restarted my blog after 3 years of taking a hiatus, and as of late I've been only reviewing books I've personally selected not review books, just so I can get back into the groove of things.
ReplyDeleteAngelica @ Paperback Princess
I'm going to have to re-think how I want to do my blog but I'm definitely going to be more selective.
DeleteGood luck with the long work days!
ReplyDeleteI've had a vile week so I'm hoping that this coming one gets dramatically better!
I hope so too! Thanks
DeleteFeel free to take a break! It looks like you have so many things to do. I hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteHere’s my Sunday Post!
Ronyell @ Rabbit Ears Book Blog and join in this week’s Book Photo Sundays and Cover Spotlight!
Thanks, I'm going to seriously think about taking a mini break to regroup.
DeleteIf you're in a slump, leave reading for a week or so and then work out what's stopping you, that always helps with me. I used to try and do every blog hop, now I just have a weekly post so it's less stressful! I'm reading more than ever too.
ReplyDeleteVee @ Under The Mountain
I never thought about it like that. I need to figure out what's making me not want to read. Thanks, this helps.
DeleteI had to back away from YA myself Cricket. Now I occasionally pick up a book that speaks to me. I hope the work week isn't too painful.
ReplyDeleteIt will just be exhausting but I'll let y'all know I survived next week. I think nothing is really calling to me and that may be my problem. :)
DeleteI've also been pretty exhausted - must be the season! I hope you feel better soon, and that the slump goes away. You should try changing up the genres indeed :)
ReplyDeleteI just finished an adult novel a couple weeks ago and enjoyed it, so I think that's the direction I need to go for now.
DeleteWow, you had a very busy work week. I can't imagine doing any reading or blogging when working those hours.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
Oh, that's all I'll be able to do until I'm too tired to read, so maybe a couple hours of reading then staring off into space. It's in a library.
DeleteI would like to know what you thought of Genevieve Graham's book. She is amazing writer. Enjoy your week!
ReplyDeleteMary my #Sunday Roundup #15!
I loved it. I have to try to right the review this week! Thanks.
DeleteIt sounds like you could use a break with everything you have going on! I hope you find time to rest. Reading slumps are no fun, particularly when blogging. I find putting down the books for a day or two can really help. Hope you have a great week ahead!
ReplyDeleteThanks, it seems to keep happening more often. I notice a lot of other bloggers having the same issue. I just need something that will ignite that spark again.
DeleteWow, 14 hour shifts sound terrible and exhausting. That would put me into a reading slump. Hopefully you find a really good book soon.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Yeah, today is my first night and I'm already sleepy.
Delete14 hour shifts! Oh boy, please take care of yourself! That sounds exhausting. I just conquered my reading slump but I have taken a step back from YA and I've been more selective about what I read. It really helped me so I hope it helps you.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week!
Tina @ As Told By Tina
Thanks, I hope changing what I read will help a lot.
DeleteOof, wishing you all the best with your long shifts this week! And with your slump as well. Sometimes I've found that switching my attention to another hobby, like movies or baking, helps my mind unwind out of a rut. Fingers crossed you find a book or other spark that rejuvenates that excitement :) Hope you have a lovely week!
ReplyDeleteMe too. I'll probably focus on my jewelry and see if that helps. Thanks
DeleteRebel of the Sands series is in my radar. Hope they're good! Happy reading! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's one that I really enjoy. Thanks
DeleteWhew! Just thinking of those hours makes me exhausted. Hope things settle down with reading and blogging and it's not too bad this next couple weeks.
ReplyDeleteMe too. I made it through one night, so I'm managing.
DeleteI'm sorry you haven't felt like reading much lately, YA books have been a bit of a miss for me lately too, so definitely try to change it up a bit and see how you go. I hope you have a better week this week!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I just don't know what it is but I'm going to try something different. I have a few that I have to read but after that moving on to something else.
DeleteI hear you LaToya! I've been exhausted too! Only doing Audiobooks! I read for like 5 minutes and fall asleep LOL I sounds you'll be even busier. Take care of yourself! I should start the Rebel of the Sands series! SMH!
ReplyDeleteThanks, I will. I'm trying to read book 3 right now but I'm too tired to stay focused on it.
