My Sunday Post #61

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer
I'm also linking up to Stacking the Shelves by Tynga's Review this week.

The schedule for this week is kind of up in the air. I've been so exhausted lately and haven't wanted to do much of anything. I have reviews to write but none posted last week because I had some promos that I signed up to post. It feels like I'm in another reading slump because even when I reading it feels like I'm forcing myself to do it. I think what's going to happen is that I'll back away from reading young adult and become a lot more selective in what I read in this genre. Then I'm also contemplating if I should keep with the "til Next Tuesday meme. On another note, I'll be work 14 hrs shifts for the next two weeks starting today because it's finals and my night job stays open 24 hours for the students to study. At least the weather has been nice this week.

  2. 14 hour shifts?? Yikes. And I hear you on the reading slump... I've had a few mini- slumps lately and they're no fun. Hope yours passes soon.

    Have a good week!

    1. Me too, it's like I just don't want to read and when I do I'm not really enjoying them as much as I hoped.

  3. 14 hr shifts?! That seems a bit intense. I hope your reading slump eases up! I'm just not reaching the other side of mine which has lasted since about February. I've had to back away from YA a bit myself.

I hope you have a great week!

    1. Now, I have to find something that will spark my reading again but I hope I can get some reading done these next two weeks. I work in a library so it will be quiet and I'll need something to do.

    1. I ask myself why I do it but then I make it through a day at a time. Me too, what would I do without a book to read.

  5. It's ok Latoya to be more selective. I've just restarted my blog after 3 years of taking a hiatus, and as of late I've been only reviewing books I've personally selected not review books, just so I can get back into the groove of things.

    1. I'm going to have to re-think how I want to do my blog but I'm definitely going to be more selective.

  8. If you're in a slump, leave reading for a week or so and then work out what's stopping you, that always helps with me. I used to try and do every blog hop, now I just have a weekly post so it's less stressful! I'm reading more than ever too.

    1. I never thought about it like that. I need to figure out what's making me not want to read. Thanks, this helps.

  9. I had to back away from YA myself Cricket. Now I occasionally pick up a book that speaks to me. I hope the work week isn't too painful.

    1. It will just be exhausting but I'll let y'all know I survived next week. I think nothing is really calling to me and that may be my problem. :)

  10. I've also been pretty exhausted - must be the season! I hope you feel better soon, and that the slump goes away. You should try changing up the genres indeed :)

    1. Oh, that's all I'll be able to do until I'm too tired to read, so maybe a couple hours of reading then staring off into space. It's in a library.

  13. It sounds like you could use a break with everything you have going on! I hope you find time to rest. Reading slumps are no fun, particularly when blogging. I find putting down the books for a day or two can really help. Hope you have a great week ahead!

  14. Wow, 14 hour shifts sound terrible and exhausting. That would put me into a reading slump. Hopefully you find a really good book soon.

  15. 14 hour shifts! Oh boy, please take care of yourself! That sounds exhausting. I just conquered my reading slump but I have taken a step back from YA and I've been more selective about what I read. It really helped me so I hope it helps you.

    Have a wonderful week!

  16. Oof, wishing you all the best with your long shifts this week! And with your slump as well. Sometimes I've found that switching my attention to another hobby, like movies or baking, helps my mind unwind out of a rut. Fingers crossed you find a book or other spark that rejuvenates that excitement :) Hope you have a lovely week!
