This hop is about showcasing books with diversity! I had to stop because there are so many great books to add to this but I'm sure you can think of more.
I'd probably chose an old fave I sadly still don't have on my shelves: Fire by Kristin Cashore. The main character (described as brown-skinned, although a lot of fanart will try to tell you otherwise) is complex, strong, and just very interesting.
I have many on my list! I would choose either Incarante by Jodi Meadows, which features reincarnation with diferent bodies or the Untold Tale by J.M. Frey which has a heroine of Asian origin or something from my 2018 list. Thank you for the giveaway!
I have most of these on my must read list! I think I would choose Children of Blood and Bone because I've read the first few pages and loved the voice.
I would probably choose "Feel Free" by Zadie Smith. I think that she is brilliant and insightful; this is her new collection of essays. I'd love to read this book, to get her observations about many issues that are relevant to our world today. Thanks, --Ann (Email: L-----B@yahoo.com)
Isn’t it a great problem to have? Too many diverse books to start listing off? We have a long way to go, but it’s amazing! I am so happy for the inclusion of many other people and beliefs! As readers, we become learners. I’m excited to learn more through these authors. Finally!!!
As for a book to choose, I’m not sure. I still haven’t read The Hate U Give and I feel like that may have to be the one. Dread Nation is also calling out to me! Ohh, but so is Children of Blood and Bone. So many! ❤️❤️❤️
"What book would you choose or what does diversity mean to you?" "Children Of Blood and Bone" looks good, but I'd probably choose a gift card because I'm not sure what I would get.
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/33381234-pacifica MARCH RELEASE is one of the books I want to get but I also want to introduce Emily to Charlotte's web. I'd like to get a hardcopy for I think for her to have , to re-ead and cry over as much as I did lol
Thank you so much for the wonderful giveaway, I'm so glad there are so many more diverse books. I think I'd pick Children of Blood and Bone if I was lucky enough to win <3
I would love to read Burn Bright by Patricia Briggs. And diversity to me means opening one's eyes and self up to new things and possibilities. Thanks for the chance to win.
I don't know what I'd choose, it's a great thing that actually are a wide variety of options now like there never has been before. As for what diversity means to me, it means no matter your skin colour, sexuality, age, or gender, you deserve to be heard.
Diversity to me means that everyone is different and to celebrate the differences. I'll take the Amazon GC please. Thanks for the contest. slehan at juno dot com
I would choose a book I've been wanting to read for a while: Ariel: The Restored Edition by Sylvia Plath. This is definitely one of my choices for a diverse book. Just reading the reviews on Goodreads will prove that point. I am re-reading The Bell Jar and just bought The Collected Poems by Sylvia Plath, last month, so I'm definitely into diverse reading these past few months, lol
Thank you for the giveaway! Honestly, there are so many great books coming out or that have already come out that I'd love to get my hands on. Children of Blood and Bone is one I've had my eye on. So is American Panda, and The Belles. The decision is so hard.
Diversity means creating a reality where incidental qualities like race, religion, sexual orientation, body shape and ethnicity are no more important to social interactions than eye color or shoe size.
I am actually waiting for May and October. The Outsider and Elevation by Stephen King come out during these months. He is my favorite author and I can not wait to read his newest books.
I might choose The Poet X (but I think I'd rather have the Amazon card) and diversity means differences -- people are different, cultures are different. digicats {at} sbcglobal {dot} net
I'd probably chose an old fave I sadly still don't have on my shelves: Fire by Kristin Cashore. The main character (described as brown-skinned, although a lot of fanart will try to tell you otherwise) is complex, strong, and just very interesting.
