I love baking around the holidays, especially cookies.I will dig out my recipe box later and share one. Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteThat's all I do for the holidays...bake bake bake. :)
DeleteI'm not sure if I can enter your challenge as I am also a host but I did want to answer. My number one holiday treat would have to be rum balls - heavy on the rum, coconut and chocolate sprinkles.
ReplyDeleteSounds good
DeleteI love chocolate chip cookies, especially reading them warm.
ReplyDeleteThis is a recipe I found that I love: http://www.thenovicechefblog.com/2013/11/the-best-classic-chocolate-chip-cookies/

Yum gingersnaps!
DeleteBlack and Blue by Gena Showalter. My favorite holiday recipe would be peanut butter cookies with Hershey Kisses. You use your favorite peanut butter cookie recipe or prepared peanut butter cookie dough. Bake cookies and while still warm place unwrapped Hershey Kisses in center of cookie.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds so good!
DeleteI love the pies at Christmas time! Pumpkin and Pecan are my favorites!
ReplyDeleteI love the feeling of the holidays! It's this overwhelming joy from the second Halloween ends to the end of new years! I love it!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite holiday recipe is any type of cookie or cupcake that I can decorate holiday related! I usually go for sugar cookies and white vanilla cupcakes because then I can add frosting and sprinkles and stuff on top!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite holiday treat is always gingersnap cookies (or anything with gingersnap flavours basically haha).
ReplyDeleteSomething that I actually make myself are chocolate waffle cookies! Since I love my waffle iron and they look so cute. I decorate with a while chocolate glaze and holiday it up with some red & green dye (:
This is the recipe I've attempted before.
My favorite thing about the holidays is basically the feeling! I just love how it brings up the mood in everyone, how family and friends are spending time together with no work interfering... Yummy things to eat, late mornings... Just love it. :D
ReplyDeleteAs for the favorite holiday recipe, I actually don't bake much at all! I love to eat, but usually leave the baking to my grandmothers. ;) LOL. But for my favorite thing to eat, it's without a doubt saffron buns! It's just not the holidays without 'em. When I was younger I used to get to finish up the buns sometimes, but I don't think I've actually done the dough from scratch. Just yum! I don't bake often but I do bake a kahlua pecan pie at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
ReplyDeleteEASY Chocolate pie. Mix up instant choc. pudding with milk, then add a bit of cool whip, pour that mixture into a premade graham cracker crust, put in the fridge for 30 minutes and voila. easy chocolate pie. My son can help me make it and it is cheap to make too! PERFECT and YUMMY!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the air. LOL. Specifically, the happy, excited, cool air. People can be nice, lights are twinkling, children are in awe...........
ReplyDeleteThere are so many great things about the holidays. I'd have to say my favorite recipes are Rum Balls, Peanut Blossoms, and Snickerdoodles. Have a wonderful holiday :)
ReplyDeleteI love to bake during the holidays - we usually keep it simple since we're baking with the kiddos. Lots of cookies shaped like snow men and decorated with icing. We also make cakes. Last year we made dough and let the kids make their own creations with it, like play dough and then bake it. They left them for santa and it was lots of fun.
ReplyDeleteI love making truffles around this time of year...melt chocolate chips and cream together, let it harden, then roll it into balls YUM. Also peanut butter balls rolled in chocolate and then get my nephews to help decorate them with sprinkles, icing sugar, chopped nuts, etc. They're both super fast things to do and don't use a lot of ingredients.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite thing about the holidays is spending time with my family. Thanks for the fun challenge and giveaway! :-)
My favorite part of the holiday is my mom's candy cane cookies. She shaves candy canes on top of them. They are so good!
