IN A RACE AGAINST TIME, HOW DO YOU KEEP THOSE YOU LOVE SAFE?

Jenny Kramer knows she isn’t normal. After all, not everybody can see the past lives of people around them. When she befriends Ben Daulton, resident new boy, the pair stumbles on an old music box with instructions for “mesmerization” and discover they may have more in common than they thought.

Like a past life.

Using the instructions in the music box, Ben and Jenny share a dream that transports them to Romanov Russia and leads them to believe they have been there together before. But they weren’t alone. Nikolai, the mysterious young man Jenny has been seeing in her own dreams was there, too. When Nikolai appears next door, Jenny is forced to acknowledge that he has traveled through time and space to find her. Doing so means he has defied the laws of time, and the Order, an ominous organization tasked with keeping people in the correct time, is determined to send him back. While Ben, Jenny and Nikolai race against the clock -- and the Order -- the trio discovers a link that joins them in life -- and beyond death.
Jenny has learned that touching people had consequences, mostly for her. She can see the past and these visions stay imprinted in her mind. So, to save her sanity she avoids contact with others which places her on the outside alone and practically friendless until she meets her friend Tiffany. Their friendship leads to one night that triggers a change in Jenny's life...a cryptic message that someone is coming for her and she has to remember. Thinking is some twisted joke, she shrugs it off until she meets Ben, who she has a prior connection with and possibly some unfinished business. He isn't the only new addition but Nikolai appears as if straight from her dreams and it seems as if everything begins to click. Just when she thinks she has all the pieces together, the Order hovers near to take away the one person she's come to care for,Nikolai. Jenny and her friends must find a way to uncover the mystery of their past and save Nikolai before it's too late. I thought the concept of time traveling in this book was near. I've noticed a few books that I've read this year talk about ley lines and different time period being parallel to one another. I liked that there is also a paranormal and magical element as well to the story and how somehow Jenny has a power that may be a threat to the Order and puts her in danger but we only get a hint a that. I like that this a clean read with light romance even innocent but the kind of love that transcends through time. Overall, I think the pace is steady and this is a good read about time travel but also friendship.
