With one wish made in Willow Forest, Soli and Lucy are pulled into Faerieground – and into the middle of an ancient battle. In the faerie kingdom, an evil queen searches for her daughter while the palace crumbles. To save her best friend, Soli must find her hidden strength. Experience this beautiful story about friendship, growing up and the power of wishes.

Soli and Lucy have been inseparable since they were children. Lucy is more outgoing and popular. Soli tries to stay out the spotlight, disappearing into the shadows. One day their friendship gets tested and this betrayal could tear them apart. All their lives they been told to stay out the woods because faeries lurk there. A magical place where if you make a wish, it may come true. It only takes one to change the lives of these two girls forever.

This is a great adventure story for young reluctant readers. The illustrations are beautifully done in a way that is engaging and inviting for this particular reading group. The writing is not too simplistic that an adult wouldn't enjoy reading it with their child but the format reminds me of easy books for beginning readers. Overall, the story moves at quick pace and the characters are good. I would recommend this to struggling or reluctant readers who enjoy vibrant colorful fantasy fiction.

  1. This looks like a book my granddaughter would enjoy. I will have to recommend it to her.
