Every day Violet Eden wonders whether she made the right choice.
She still doesn't fully understand these powers she's been granted as a half-angel Grigori.  And worse, isn't even sure she's capable of using them. Stab someone through the heart? Really?
No matter how bad things get, though, Violet doesn't run and she doesn't quit. Even if it means she can never allow herself to love the guy she longs for. Even if it means asking her enemy for help. Even if no one is telling her the truth.
The war between Exiles and Angels is on—and she's wanted by both sides.

Review: Violet is now a Grigori and she is still coming to terms with her new identity. She is struggling with anxiety issues, the idea of using her dagger to return exiles, and over the thought of which part of herself she destroyed in the desert. She is no longer wrapped up in the emotional tangle that Phoenix had her in and he currently shows no signs of feeling any emotion towards her except hate. He could easily kill her but toys with her on occasion plus he knows something---he needs Violet. In addition to that Lincoln is being distant and keeping something from her.

Entice has so much going on from the relationships, Violet's destiny,an unknown traitor, and the location of the Scriptures. None of them really understand what the Scriptures can do but they will eventually realize that what Phoenix wants them for is much more sinister than they could possibly imagine. I am hoping that whatever hold  Phoenix has over Violet will go away. I heart Lincoln, though in the beginning of the book not so much but towards the middle, he began to do somewhat of a turnaround and the heat between him and Violet was just right when it happened. They both struggle with the reality that Grigori partners are not allowed to pursue a relationship. Why? Because Grigori rules state that partners being together can lead to unpredictable  consequences for one or both partners. However, there is always an exception to a rule...maybe Lincoln and Violet will have hope after all.

I am thrilled about the new characters that are introduced in this book; Zoe, Spence, Nyla , Rudyard and Salvatore are all great additions to this series and I look forward to seeing how they flesh out in the next book.Overall, this book was actually better than the first one for me. The religious hints add depth and intrigue to the story background. The writing style colorfully conveys the emotions of the characters and gives a realistic view of the settings. The historical aspects for this book are pretty cool as well as the different abilities that each of the Grigori possess. So, I think I know who Violet's angel parent is and this is going to be very interesting when she figures it out.

  2. I am so very excited about this book. I am seriously thinking about going ahead and buying books 3 and 4 from fishpond.com as soon as I get Entice in my house because I just don't think I can wait another 2 years to get the whole story. Or more of Lincoln! Sigh, Linc! Entice sounds like it will not disappoint, and may just be a little better than Embrace. I am in like Flynn!
