For Corbett Griffith III, divorce and two busy parents mean goodbye city life, hello great outdoors. With their busy Chicago careers and schedules, his parents just don't seem to have any time for him. When his mother sends him to his uncle's Wisconsin fishing resort for the summer, Corbett feels that there's no one pulling for him or caring what happens to him.

But all of that changes at Whispering Pines Lodge, Corbett learns he is never really alone, thanks to his Uncle Dell, who takes care of him, and his new friend Pike, who pulls him into one mischievous adventure after another. It's a summer of change for ten-year-old Corbett--even his name changes, when a cute girl calls him "Griffy," a nickname he likes enough to keep.

When Griffy catches two elusive walleyes, he is surprised to discover how much he likes fishing. Eager to test his newfound skills, he and Pike are stunned to hear that a seventy-pound muskie is on the loose. They resolve to catch the ferocious fish, no matter what. For Pike catching a world record muskie would be about the sport. For Griffy it would be about something more. Maybe, just maybe, if he caught that fish is parents would take notice.

Think alligator. Think prehistoric beast. Think mean.

Will they be able to catch the muskie and stop it from attacking anyone or anything?

MUSKIE ATTACK, the outdoor adventure of three adolescents named Griffy, Pike and Gil is both heartwarming and entertaining.  Griffy, a city kid, is told he will be spending the summer months in WS at Whispering Pines Lodge on Lost Land Lake with his Uncle Dell. Griffy, who typically entertains himself in his room with a vast array of electronics, is dreading the summer knowing he will be out of his element. In all his worrying, Griffy never imagines he will be part of a fishing adventure of a lifetime with his new found friends Pike and Gil.

The huge 5 foot muskie discovered in Lost Land Lake spurs a fishing contest with a reward of $5000.00. With competitors arriving from near and far, the trio is not to be outdone. Determined to win the prize and land the large fish, Griffy, Pike and Gil embark on a breathtaking adventure that even the fans of “Jaws” would be proud.G.M. Moore has created a fish tale sure to please any age looking for fun and adventure. Whether you are 8 or 98, you will be entertained.

  1. Sounds adorable. My brother loves to fish, but hates to read. If he did read, I would suggest this book to him. Cutie may like it too. He loves to fish as well. I'm not much of a fisher. I went in boat fishing with my dad when I was young while we were camping. Mom said everything was fine until Dad wanted me to hold the fish for a picture and she said she could hear me screaming from the boat while she was on shore...so yeah. I'm not a fan of fishing.
